When you are searching for a company to provide you with top quality, American Made Bandanas, it is important to search for and read multiple bandana supply company reviews. Bandanas are not a complex product, they are simply fabric squares. But I’m here to tell you that not all squares are created equally. Here is a list of the top 3 things to consider when reviewing bandanas.

#1. Are the bandanas square?

I know that this sounds like an obvious question to ask but believe it or not, not all bandanas are square. Before we started manufacturing our own bandanas we purchased blank bandanas from overseas. We quickly learned that not all of the bandanas were 22″ x 22″ and not all of them were squares. When you are printing designs with borders that are perfect squares and you are printing on a product that is not a perfect square it is obvious.

#2. Is the fabric see-thru?

Our bandanas are 5.3 ounce, 100% cotton. That mixture gives the right blend of robust fabric for a quality print, but not so much that the bandana is stiff and heavy. Since bandanas are typically worn on the head or neck, it’s important to have a fabric that is not so flimsy that it looks and feels cheap, but not so thick that it’s hot and heavy. 5.3 ounces seems to do the trick.  Most imports fall under 5 ounces and have a papery stiff feeling to it.

#3. What is the maximum print area available?

Screen printing equipment is manufactured in “standard” formats. Typically 14″ x 16″ or 16″ x 19″ but with a bandana that is 22″ x 22″ it’s often important to have a print area that will at least leave no more than a 1″ margin. A 21″ x 21″ print area (uncommon) is the appropriate size for most bandana designs. Our print area is 50″ x 50″ which means that we can spill over the edge of the bandana offering a full “edge-to-edge” design. While most of the work we do here is 21″ x 21″ it’s nice to have the option to do a full pattern all over the bandana.
