Top 3 reasons why you don’t want Blank Bandanas for Screen Printing
I know that you found us because you want to buy blank bandanas, but trust me, let me tell you why you don’t want to do that, and I think if you read this article, you’ll agree with me and have a happier life.
Reason #1 – You probably can’t print as big as you need to for a bandana
Most clients, internal or external, want a classic looking bandana print. A classic American bandana has a 20″ x 20″ print on a 22″ x 22″ bandana. That means that you will have a 1″ blank border that goes around the edge. Since most screen printing companies max out at 18″ in width (size of an XL front T-Shirt print), that means you are going to fall 2″ too short on the print. So even if you buy blank bandanas from us, if you print them with an 18″ x 18″ print, they are going to look bad. You’re going to want us to print the bandanas for you so that you have that sweet 20″ x 20″ print and so that your client isn’t wondering why there is a huge gap around the edge of their custom bandanas. Check out the image below to understand what I’m talking about.
Reason #2 – You are probably printing with plastisol
Let’s face it, liquid plastic is out. It’s cruncy, thick and feels bad. It’s one thing if you print with plastisol on a t-shirt. The image is on the outside of the shirt and nobody is rubbing their face on it. With bandanas, they are worn around the neck, head or face. You can’t have scratchy liquid plastic for the design. In addition to it being uncomfortable it’s stiff and nobody wants a rigid bandana. We use water based inks and discharge inks, and those are what you use for bandana printing. You can wear one of our bandanas with a water-based print and never feel the design.
Reason #3 – Your customer may want an all over print
We’ve been talking about the classic 20″ x 20″ … now let’s talk about 22″ x 22″ a full bleed bandana print where the print rolls off the edge. Oh yeah, that’s what I’m talking about. If you want a custom fabric looking bandana, then our full bleed option is where you want to be. Your customer will be really impressed when you provide them with a full bleed custom logo print on a bandana.
