Custom Printed Bandanas
As with most products, there are numerous options available for consumers to choose from, and that’s a good and bad thing. The good, is that you have choices and competition keeps pricing fair and reasonable. The bad, is that while choice is important, it’s often difficult to differentiate between all of the options. This article aims to help you consider what is important when choosing Custom Printed Bandanas.
The Top 5 Things To Consider When Ordering Custom Printed Bandanas
#1 Bandana Fabric – Bandas are typically offered in three “flavors”, 100% cotton, 100% polyester, and an 80/20 or 50/50 blend. What most people consider to be a high-quality bandana, is a bandana made from 100% cotton. Within the cotton family, there are various cotton weights. Usually, something that is 5.4 ounces and a broadcloth weave is what you want to look for when ordering your custom printed bandanas.
#2 Print Quality – Since bandanas are typically worn on the face, forehead or around the neck, you want to make sure that water-based inks are used. Traditional screen printing inks are plastic-based, this, unfortunately, provides a scratchy, thick, and heavy feel that is undesirable. We use water-based inks that provide a soft, light feel that are comfortable enough to wear directly on your skin.
#3 Bandana Quality – Most companies that offer custom bandanas fall into the screen printer category, this makes sense because that is how bandanas are customized. However, screen printers are not manufacturers, they order blank goods from mills, and then decorate the products for their customers. This process usually works fine because for T-Shirts, Hoodies, Polos etc. there are wide selections and a good range of high-quality items to choose from. There are very few bandana manufacturers (We are one of them) and as a result, most bandanas are imports. Unfortunately, great care is not taken when making bandanas offshore. As a result, bandanas tend to be of lower quality. They are usually not square, they are usually not consistent in size and the fabric is typically less than 5.4 ounces and is tissue paper thin and rough. Read my article “The Imperfect Bandana” Watch how imported bandanas are made below and you will see why imports, the choice of most screen printers, can negatively impact your custom printed bandanas.
#4 Service – Since most custom bandana companies are screen printers, they often lack complete control of your order. This means that they have to order the bandanas from overseas, wait for them to arrive, and then decorate them for you. Here at BandanasOnline.com we manufacture the bandanas here in New Jersey, we ensure that they are of the highest quality and meet or exceed our standards and then we decorate them with your design. Other than the manufacturing of the fabric itself, which we import from Canada, your entire order from start to finish will be handled by us in New Jersey. We cut the fabric, sew the bandanas, print your design and package and ship once complete. Having complete control, in-house is a huge benefit to you and your client.
#5 Delivery Time – With regard to #4 Service, our in-house capabilities give us the type of control we need to deliver your custom product within a reasonable timeframe. Typically, most custom printed bandana orders can be completed within 10-14 days. When working with us, you’ll have a direct line of contact with the designer, your salesperson and the production personnel lresponsible for your order.
