Screen Printed Bandanas
Screen Printed Bandanas seem to be available everywhere, but there are important nuances and differences that one should consider before comparing apples to oranges.
Most of the bandanas that are offered today are offered by companies that are screen printers of t-shirts, or they are offered by companies that outsource their printing to bandana companies. It’s important to know the type of company that you are working with so that you can make the appropriate choices and decide on what you may or may not be willing to pay for.
The risk of purchasing screen printed bandanas from t-shirt companies is two fold. The first risk is that most screen printing companies can’t print bigger than 18″ x 18″, and while that seems awesome, bandanas themselves are 22″ x 22″, this means that there is a 4″ gap / border. The concerning aspect here is that a traditional bandana only has a 1 inch gap around the perimeter. If you put a 4″ blank border, the end result is going to look atypical.
In addition, screen printers use plastisol inks, they are great for t-shirts, but are heavy and sit on top of the fabric. For a bandana that will be used on one’s face, neck, leg, as a wicking cloth etc. you want a super soft feel, and plastisol inks aren’t going to give you that.
BandanasOnline.com uses water-based inks and we can print off of the edge of a bandana. We have the ability to print 8 different colors on a bandana and we offer the flexibility of modest minimum orders and fast turn-around times.
